What is this thing that I'm seeing lately with "Legitimate interests"? It's come up to the #GDPR popups in the last weeks I think, I don't recall seeing such stuff before.
Yesterday I had a thing where I set all cookies to off manually, and then saw a tab called "Legitimate interests", opened it and found a bunch more of cookies to opt out off.
Is that some new hack of the #privacy laws?
European commission should have made not anything except explicit opt-in mandatory.
@zladuric Most likely attempts to circumvent GDPR restrictions: https://ico.org.uk/for-organisations/guide-to-data-protection/guide-to-the-general-data-protection-regulation-gdpr/legitimate-interests/what-is-the-legitimate-interests-basis/
@zladuric it isa ground to use and collect personal data that does not rely on consent. It should be rather narrow in scope by design, and I doubt many websites should be able to claim this without controversy.
