So, the UK now wants to "RATION" Internet access to prioritize traffic to certain sites in a heavy-handed manner.
Two bits of advice:
1. Don't piss off the nerds, they *are* smarter than you.
2. Traffic shaping and QoS are a thing, yes, but they can be defeated if you try hard enough.

Housebound advice from a long-term housebound person, boosts ok
I'm going to post a long thread on how to cope better if you're stuck indoors at the moment. I've been housebound by disability for a long while now, and sporadically housebound due to depression and agoraphobia before that. These are things that have improved how I deal with that. This is not gonna make houseboundness painless for you but it might help you cope. Disabled comrades are welcome to share their own advice to this thread.
It's #NationalPuppyDay and I'm going on a rampage of posting puppies. Seriously, an "Awww!" moment really does help stress, mental acuity and emotional health.
Johnson claims no health service could cope with the level of demand the coronavirus is causing, but the Chinese health service is coping. It wasn't inevitable that the NHS wouldn't have enough beds, ventilators or staff to test everyone for coronavirus and provide proper treatment for everyone who falls ill. It's not by nature that it's been starved of resources and sold off piece by piece over the past 40 years.

This lockdown should have happened ages ago to buy the NHS some more time to prepare and with some prior notice for everyone to prepare properly with clear concise instructions not some flimsy and confusing "advice".
They literally knew this was coming but would prefer to shift the blame onto the public first and at the very likely cost of thousands more lives. It's the single most evil and devious thing I've ever experienced.
