The whole "All lives matter" thing has got to be one of the dumbest arguments out there. "All lives matter" logically implies "Black lives matter". Missing the point here would seem to require both a grammatical understanding and a lack of even a "Police did bad thing to black guy" level of news awareness. Are these people missing the point this hard, or just that willing to look dumb?
I don't know why this makes a noise https://diode.zone/videos/watch/6354cb1f-896d-4aff-8f1d-302039dcfabf

Learning apps compromise security of Nuclear Weapons in Europe: "The flashcards studied by soldiers tasked with guarding these devices reveal not just the bases, but even identify the exact shelters with “hot” vaults that likely contain nuclear weapons."

@fitheach I rented a bicycle using a QR code. The legit QR had been replaced with one that sent info to a crook. The crook rented the bike for me. Then the crook emptied my bank account with endless automated small withdrawals. I rode the bike, ended the rental, the next day saw I had no money. Took months to resolve. So... yes, an interim step would have been preferred.

I just tried the new #kdenlive automatic subtitle, and it's really good! I still need to correct it (and it would be nice to have a slightly better interface for that), but a lot of work gets done automatically. So my latest video has subtitles now!

It is a plan to force all providers of communication (email, chat apps etc) to be forced to automatically scan all communications and inform authorities should something that could be related to child sexual abuse be found. The dutch and belgian police claim that they have hacked #skyecc. Sky ECC claims they weren't, they're using 521 bit elliptic curve crypo, and maybe the police had made a fake app? I'm not sure how that would work, as it seems Sky ECC isn't just an app, but a customized phone. Anyway, interesting story that I haven't seen yet in English media.
I've always made the implicit assumption that setting up a PC with windows preinstalled was easier than installing a fresh Linux. I'm setting up a windows box for work, and I no longer believe that. It also takes longer.
I don't even mean getting all the required programs on there. I just mean getting to the desktop screen.
It took me 2+ years to get to this point- on and off, and parts of it definitely beyond my control.
But the MachXO2 family of FPGAs now has a full (experimental) FOSS flow from Verilog to bitstream. I'd upload video, but attachment limits. So see here: https://twitter.com/cr1901/status/1356042679608606721?s=19
