Updated a PHP lib I publish. Set minimum PHP version to 7.1. Got complaints.
"I'm on 5.6! Why'd you break my site?!?"
Wasn't my fault. I warned you. In the readme. In the configuration. In a massive warning screen printed on your site.
"OK, fine, I upgraded Debian. Now I have PHP 7.0. But things are still broken!!!"
I know. Minimum is 7.1. That's not 7.0.
"Is this even necessary?!"
Yep. You're paying exactly $0 for this tool. Unless that changes, I define the acceptance criteria.
Urg, if you use Letsencrypt with nginx on Debian, don’t forget to add restarting nginx to the cron-job:
https://www.guyrutenberg.com/2017/01/01/lets-encrypt-reload-nginx-after-renewing-certificates/
Otherwise your site serves up old certificates even though you have new ones…

I'd hazard a guess that more people have had their password 'stolen' typing it into a phishing site with a padlock (https) than have lost it on a legitimate site without https. People were trained to trust https/tls markers as legitimate. That's not the case anymore. Https now just means encrypted not necessarily trusted. It'll take years retrain the public.
