@Citizen216 I think Americans are just fine with tyranny if it benefits them personally—or if they *think* it benefits them personally.
And let’s not forget the Southern Strategy. Plenty of white Americans will literally kill themselves just to make sure a brown person *anywhere* doesn’t get any chance at equality.

Buddhism teaches similar concepts.
In Buddhism, Dependent Arising (Pratītyasamutpāda) is a core concept, described as:
“if this exists, that exists; if this ceases to exist, that also ceases to exist.”
It bears repeating, even though the parallel has been drawn countless times, that the Buddhist view of reality is not significantly different from that of the Quantum Physicist — and very similar to modern Cognitive Scientists. The entire concept of Pratītyasamutpāda (Dependent Arising) is like a page right out of Max Planck’s writings.

I'm on the emotional torture rack over this Ukrainian and Russian thing. There's a very good episode on Revolutionary Left Radio touching on how difficult it is to thread the needle on this war. I can't forget that NATO is responsible for pushing Ukraine into this. And provoking Putin so that Ukrainians and Russians die.

Ich versteh diese Friedensdemos nicht. Was bezweckt man damit? Putin ist in ideologischem Wahn und wird sich kaum durch deutsche Friedensdemos beeindrucken lassen. Und die lauten Stimmen gegen Nato-Kriegsbeteiligung und ~AufRüsTuNg~ sind wie Hohn für die Ukrainer.
Solidarität zeigen? Für die Ukrainer? Wie sollen die das überhaupt mitbekommen? Ist es nicht zu aller erst Selbstvergewisserung, auf der 'guten' Seite zu stehen, während alle Diplomatie brennt?
