Vice dot com (a website that sends data back to Google, Facebook, and Segment, even if you don't have a Facebook account) reports that the Zoom iOS app sends data to Facebook even if you don’t have a Facebook account

This isn't to absolve Zoom, screw Zoom, but if shaming services is the way that we're gonna get them to stop sending data back, then I want Vice to be next one on the menu.

@trickster the only problem with writing articles for a medium that doesn't send all its (your) data to Google, is that it won't show up on Google News. and same with Facebook: it won't show up in anyone's feeds, so it won't be cross posted to twitter and here

@hirojin @trickster That's nonsense.
Articles "show up" on FB if they're posted there.

The metadata sharing is for ad targeting, which nowadays includes political brainwashing.

@ansugeisler @trickster im trying to figure out the amount of snark that went into this post, and i think i need another coffee

@hirojin @trickster Very much the dynamic I'm aiming to fight by encouraging RSS/Atom webfeeds!

@trickster we truly live in the least self-aware timeline
