Yep, that was most definitely very amusing. If you read the comments, you'll see he mostly just has a crinklier tinfoil hat than I do. E2E encryption is always better than none, period.

He says "show me the perfect system and then I'll believe it" - to which I say "show me these 'back doors' in action, and I'll believe them". Also, SSL certificates expiring is an issue with admin negligence, not SSL.

@trevdev @gemlog his issue about ssl is more of "I hate anything with a man made expiration date" or something close to that line.
