I have a day job, and I do Pinafore for fun. The server costs me $15 per month to run, which is cheaper than a lot of other hobbies

So, I've imported ~25Gb of music from the Free Music Archive on open.audio using this method.

It worked beautifully, and it's now available for the whole #Funkwhale federation. Follow this library from your Funkwhale instance and you'll have access to it:

open.audio/federation/music/li

You can also visit open.audio/library/ directly to listen to all this new content! (you don't need an account ;)

I think Pinafore is my new favourite web client for Mastodon. It works well with smaller screens, it automatically updates, it's fast and it works good with qutebrowser using only the keyboard.

Some exciting additions coming in today's #WriteFreely v0.6 release, including support for SQLite, and an optional public timeline for your instance, à la @readwriteas.

#MechanicalKeyboards

@nopefish Played with it off and on. The ncurses interface does not really work but for quick toots or checking the latest, it is fast and easy on the cli. For cli, I prefer tootstream.

What were you wanting to know?

And one last note for the night, and desktop users I have not given up on making ctrlopenapple.com for resources for bridging those two lives.

In fact, I plan to get it up and moving first part of next week. Just have to finish building for 😆this weekend in the mountains of North Carolina, USA.

Anyone using on ? Love Focus and the two used to work well together until the last update of Firefox. Now when I share the page to Bitwarden, it fails to find a match as if it is not even receiving the url.

Suggestions?

Today, exactly one year ago, I created my account here on LinuxRocks.Online after the GNU Social server I was using at the time was going to shut down.

Even though both are part of the fediverse, I would have never found so many fun and interesting people if I hadn't joined Mastodon.

A big thanks to all of you for making the Internet a better place! :)

Good software ideas with bad names

Since, I just mentioned an episode of FLOSS Weekly, may I make a humble request to some of the developers out there in making / social systems to make contact with the host.

@dansup , @write_as , @Gargron ,
etc.

Would be nice to hear and help promote developed projects .

Quite an amazing episode. Rich in history and rich in lessons about open source in the medical field. and are two systems I would like to delve a little more study on.

I wonder if nontech oriented journalism could cover this in all their political dramas. It would be interesting if the cost of replacement and the value of replacement of these systems would be more widely known.

Anyone out there in #tootspace order a system from RaptorCS? I know they're a relatively small company serving a niche market, so I'm willing to give them a fair amount of flexibility here, but how long did it take to get your order? I'm only anxious about it because my only options until it gets here are my laptops or an SBC of some flavor, and neither of them are great desktop replacements.

Boosts welcome to reach more people.

We are so excited to unveil the IT Guys branding. HUGE thank you to @freehive for designing our branding and for doing so on all open source technologies. #startup #FOSS

I will be shutting down LinuxRocks over the weekend to copy the VM to another server. This means IP changes so please give time for DNS to propagate.
