Spicy Bullshit from my Former Employer
I've been talking to a former coworker. She's one of two people in a department, and they're WAY overworked. She's single-handedly saved them from drowning, and documented SO MUCH process, despite an incredibly rough year personally.
She just had her yearly review (late), and noticed an error on her salary/raise.
Turns out, they've been paying her $10k MORE per year than they thought they were. AND NOW THEY'RE TRYING TO NEGOTIATE HER DOWN TO THAT AMOUNT.

Ah. Well, I've found there's a lot of value in knowing that something is illegal and in making sure your employer knows you know. (She's still documenting everything and keeping all the evidence somewhere safe, right? Just in case they decide to start with the legal threats?)
Here's hoping she gets a new job soon and and the opportunity to walk out of there in slow motion as the place (metaphorically) explodes behind her.

@suetanvil She has. The lawyer basically told her, "You can choose to fight this, but it's gonna be a cointoss, and if you lose, it'll cost you a lot of money."
Thankfully, she's in a position where she'll be able to pretty easily find another job (and has a lot of people who have her back).
