Today we're announcing a new website: What can I do for LibreOffice! This helps newcomers to our project and community get involved – learn more about how and why we made it here: https://blog.documentfoundation.org/blog/2019/06/07/announcing-a-new-website-what-can-i-do-for-libreoffice/
Personal resolution: search for video content on Peertube/LBRY before jumping straight to invidio.us
Suggestion for Youtubers: upload your content to other platforms as well as Youtube, and encourage your viewers to watch you there instead.
As viewers, we can vote with our views by watching our favourite content creators on those platforms, and if possible make small donations to compensate for the lost ad revenue.
I need to go to bed, I'm on "that" part of YouTube again. https://youtu.be/vQhqikWnQCU
Good morning friends! Have you seen my latest video? https://youtu.be/hutch9TVnVg
A few weeks ago I enabled for the fist time #e2e for a 1:1 chat in #Matrix and it was really cumbersome until all devices of all participants where verified correctly. Nothing I could do with any "normal" user. Hope there will be a more intuitive solution like #TOFU in the future and leave device verification to the people who really need/want it.
unpopular librem.one thoughts
One thing that traditional social media platforms provide is moderation, which is also a form of censorship.
I am for self censorship. I like to choose what I see and what I don't see.
librem.one doesn't have a federated timeline. You choose to follow who you want.
Most fediverse instances have a public timeline, which you opt out of seeing.
To have the fediverse be inclusive of all people, opt in better.
See librem.one/stay-safe/ for their moderation approach.
You get annoyed by having to enter your #Mastodon handle each time you want to follow/interact with someone on a "foreign" page?
I got that too, but I've made a little add-on to solve this "problem". 😃
It automatically "redirects" you to your own instance.
ICYMI, my latest video is all about the GNOME app developer's open letter to the community.
Shame to see Antergos Linux come to an end, was my first dip into Arch: https://antergos.com/blog/antergos-linux-project-ends/
This Mastodon instance is for people interested in technology. Discussions aren't limited to technology, because tech folks shouldn't be limited to technology either! We adhere to an adapted version of the TootCat Code of Conduct and have documented a list of blocked instances. Ash is the admin and is supported by Fuzzface, Brian!, and Daniel Glus as moderators. Hosting costs are largely covered by our generous supporters on Patreon – thanks for all the help!
