Today I came across a that was running; but didn't have a in the filesystem.
The running kernel was 2.6.32, so it was bad already.

And here it was prompting me to reboot. Would the server come back online after the reboot? I don't think so; but I didn't want to take that risk.

I'll never know what would've happened if someone actually rebooted the server. Seriously though, why would a server exist without any kernel in the filesystem?

Is that the definition of ? 🤔
