Hi there, I'm Sera, a transgender Computer Science student studying at the University of Glasgow.

I'll be using this account to mostly talk about tech nonsense and side projects and technical hobbies however you can find my main account @sera@prettyqueer.online !

Can anyone with Angular 6 experience nudge me towards good starting material or tutorials!

dam who knew gentoo works better the second time round *when you actually RTFM*

was trying to figure out how to use a detached luks header with nixos configuration file and as usual the answer was RTFM....

Never done an online writeup before but I'm trying my hand at one now! Writing up my install experience of installing NixOS with full disk encryption and a detached LUKS header and bootloader (unencrypted) on an SD card for plausible deniability of content (all for the heck of it)

@fuzzface @sera The logic goes something like this:

1. I believe that sera@keybase is who she says she is.
2. This @sera account (who could be anybody, really) toots that she's the real sera@keybase, using a signed Saltpack message.
3. I copy the message and run it through Keybase on my system. The message is signed by sera@keybase, and it says that she's @sera.

Only @sera can post to her Mastodon profile, and only sera@keybase could have signed that message, so now I know that @sera is not an imposter.

If having a coffee in the morning doesn't wake you up, try deleting a table in a production database instead.

day 12 of generating keys on my rpi: I think it beeped once in the last 54 hours

Had a problem with my Rpi running arch linux, and it seems it just needed the keychain rebuilt OOPS

It would be nice to be able to forward posts I see between mastodon accounts, so that I can boost/comment on the appropriate account

Time for me to learn how pgp and stuff works cus I am woefully unknowledgable about something so important

Probably one of the saddest parts of leaving birdsite was that I’d spent a pretty decent amount of time trying to add and follow a lot more women in tech, and I miss hearing from them.

Help me balance my follows out and suggest some awesome #WomenInTech to follow (cis/trans, it’s all good). Boost this, maybe even reply with yourself, maybe we can get a good list of voices.

I never liked the icon, now that I switched to UI base emacs from terminal emacs usage - I tried to synthesize an application icon which I do not claim to be better in any way but at least different than the traditional emacs icon.

"There is a common myth in software development that parallel programming is hard. (...) It's more accurate to say that parallel programming in a language with a C-like abstract machine is difficult."

Great read!
