Learning GraphQL for a potential project, trying to have a good attitude about it this time. Decided to read all of HowToGraphQL.com, but having to make my way through triumphalism like "GraphQL is the Better Rest", strawmen arguments like "[with REST] the only way for a client to download data is by hitting endpoints that return fixed data structures", and a system where you're prompted with a _quiz_ about why GraphQL is so great before you can continue to the next page.

@CodingItWrong that's absurd. It doesn't help that I think comparing REST and GQL is almost pointless anyway. REST isn't a query language, it's state transfer over HTTP.
