Trying Duolingo again for German. Haven't opened it up in about 10 months. I heard there was a lot of changes. All I see immediately is a lot more pushiness to get the paid version to skip the ads.
I'll try a couple more lessons but there's only so many times I can type "Ich bin ein Brot".
@cj I've been a lot happier since I switched to the web client instead of the tablet/phone version. The feature set is quite different actually, but I like the web feature set better.
@scb This is awesome. I had no idea there was a web client. The lightbulb explanations for each lesson are completely missing in the phone version and I find them to be incredibly useful. Can't believe they are omitted.
@cj Exactly. Two other great things about the web client: 1) timed exercises are better than regular exercises is just about every way. 2) they just pushed a change for me (they do a lot of A/B testing) that lets me test out of a crown level. For the lower levels it's pretty easy to test out and you can just power through and get hundreds of points in a day haha. #DuoLingo
