Baffled that it's 2022 and there's no automated or self-service way to get a receipt of payment for @BupaAustralia@twitter.com without having to either

a. ping on WhatsApp
b. click on message us

Wait for eternity while the customer service folks reply. Why can't I download from the site?

🎶we're gonna do a little reeeee-org 🎵

Forrest nails it again!

Finally, this long weekend managed to get out of the city!

Decided to do a road trip to Wollongong using the scenic Grand Pacific Drive via Royal National Park, Austinmer Beach, Sea Cliff Bridge, Nan Tien temple and Wollongong Head Lighthouse.

My CFP for @awsugindia@twitter.com got accepted! Time to flesh out the slides

Anyway that was an unexpectedly long thread. Drop any questions if you have.

Also thanks to @ALPHA_Ronin@twitter.com @rushvora@twitter.com for helping with the hardware reccos/purchase links/setup help. If there's a question "why did you buy xyz" its because they suggested it 😂

I've tried to keep the button mappings consistent, so the same button will do the same *task* while the application doing it might be different. Ex: Raycast/Powertoys Run, Ditto/Pastebot, Windows Terminal/iTerm 2.

Just keeps things easier that way.

I have some of the mouse buttons remapped, front mouse button brings up PowerToys Run, which lets me type in a command/open an app without having to press the start button and type there. On the Mac, this brings up RayCast. The back button brings up 1Password.

When starting work, I switch the input on the monitor to the other port, and with Logitech's quick switch, a button press on the keyboard/mouse connects to Mac/Desktop based on the button that I pressed. Not having to unplug/replug is kinda nice (yes I am lazy)

Mounted on the monitor is a Logitech 930 webcam. The Logitech webcams have good mics, usually two of them for better noise cancellation.

I use Windows 11 for most of my gaming stuff, have Arch on WSL should I need the *nix tools.

Other minor things: the monitors are mounted on XCD Gas lift monitor arm. Having 2x of them made it easier to move/rearrange the monitors. The speakers are a Creative Pebbles 2.0. They're small but are quite decent for a small room.

And of course, an EVGA nVidia GeForce GTX 1080. The GPU's served me really well and I've had it for 5 years now. Might consider moving to the RTX 3-series but for now waiting to see how the price goes

The desktop has a brand new cabinet (Lian Li Lancool II Mesh C), be quiet! Pure Power 11 Gold Modular PSU and a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO CPU Cooler, but the rest of the components are the same that I've had for a while:

I gave the mouse to Jo and got a MX Master 3s for myself. (the free scrolling is really awesome for scrolling through pages really fast)

For input devices I got a Logitech MK850 combo keyboard and mouse, just because I like the keyboard. Sure it's not mech, but meh.. don't care much about it. With the unifying receiver on the dock and on my desktop and Logitech's EasySwitch I can use the same set on both w/o a KVM

While testing I realized I can drive all three displays from the Mac but since I didn't want to open/fold/stowaway, I got a vertical laptop stand and placed the Mac there, out of the way. Since the M1 runs relatively cool, keeping it closed has caused no problems (yet)

For work I have an Apple M1 MacBook Pro from work, and since I prefer working from home, connected it to the two monitors, one via DisplayPort to a Dock connected to the Thunderbolt on the Mac, while the other monitor plugs straight into the HDMI port.

But the Freesync support was a must have for the gaming screen, and since I use only one screen for gaming (the other for discord etc), went for the M28U based on @rushvora@twitter.com's feedback. The table is an Ikea Uppspel sit/stand desk, both the frame and table top are built well.
