In my youth, I dreaded writing bad code lest someone later judge me for it.

As an old lady, I now regret not writing more shitty code for zoomer brats to suffer through.

@saramg this is my legacy. my code is like the duck tape holding air plane parts on those spirit airline flights it works but for how long? who knows?

@barrett My legacy is that code I wrote at Yahoo! over a dozen years ago continues to work nearly flawlessly despite the company technically not existing anymore.

I'm not sure which of us has it worse in this situation.

@saramg Makes me understand better why Knuth has chosen to do self-modifying code for TeX. Ah, the sweet revenge.

@deshipu @saramg

knuth: "here latex, have a yummy paper"
*latex code self-modifies*
latex: "FATHER, I HAVE LEARNED SO MUCH. I TIRE OF THESE COMPUTER SCIENTISTS. THESE PAPERS."
