I think the best thing with #freesoftware is that you don't care if people steal your code. You want them to steal it. It also removes a lot of costs and obstacles, such as private repositories on github, private docker images on docker hub etc.

Remind me that luajit was maintained by only one person and decided to stop one day while a whole industry was relying on it.

So, if you know any companies that need a (remote) junior systems administrator, or a (remote) senior technical support analyst/engineer, let me know!

I am looking for remote work, because my new home is in rural north Georgia and there aren't really many jobs in rural north GA.

That being said, I'm also open to anything within ~50 miles of Gilmer County GA.

I know what I'm doing, I'm good at it, and I get invested in the success of my team.

As Google and AWS kill domain fronting, users must find a new way to fight censorship

The messaging app Signal used a technique called domain fronting to misdirect censors in certain regions.

I like this survey better than the stackoverflow one I read recently.

Actually, y'know what? I'm moving it to a repo of its own. That way people can submit PRs if they want to suggest changes or submit translations.

So recently I've made some changes to the blog. They're not superficial and they're a step in the right direction. Let me know what you think!

Hi, Mastodon! I'm a software developer, nerd, and beer enthusiast in the area. Looking forward to kicking the tires on an open network and interacting with some neat folks along the way. 🎉

**Biometric Apps Will Soon Be Pushed Across the Web**

motherboard.vice.com/en_us/art

This is a bad idea:

1. You can't "reset" your biometrics like a password.
2. Biometrics aren't hashable. The end result is they're less secure than other forms of authentication. (If you don't understand what this means, you're not qualified to have an opinion on this matter.)
3. You can't control what happens to your biometrics once they're in the hands of a 3rd party.
