1: Editing after publication seems really bad thing for a news outlet to do without telling readers.

2: I now look like I was dreaming or am just a bafoon when I tweeted about it last night.

3: The article still focuses on cis women.

Show thread

Probs gonna email the BBC later cos they edited the article after publication and added a comment from a trans woman (and some other comments) - but don't make it clear that the article has been edited πŸ˜”

Ah yes, of course, menopausal cis women are the only people effected by the shortage of Oestrogen medication....

No mention of trans folk at all. 😴

@BBCNews@twitter.com In fact, that whole section with quotes from people seems to have been added since yesterday.... Either that or I'm going a bit mad.

Show thread

Looks like they added a section with a comment from a trans woman after releasing the article yesterday πŸ™„

I mean, props for including us @BBCNews@twitter.com. But that should've been there when you first wrote it!

Show thread

I'm extra salty because I just started HRT amidst an HRT shortage and like, my transition just keeps getting harder πŸ™„

Show thread

Come on. I know HRT is majoritivly used by cis women, and it /is/ off label for treating trans folk.

But you can't ignore that the shortage affects us too, in a huge way.

If I was going to learn another language - it'd probably be Japanese or Cantonese. Because those are the two I'm likely to use most. I have little interest in other European languages, but Swedish would be next on that list.

3 - English, German, French.

I really enjoy German, and I'm alright at it nowadays.
French I did at school and did not like.

How many languages have you studied, INCLUDING your native language(s)? (even if you don’t speak fluently, just curious what you all have spent time on)

Which ones?

Kinda enjoying reading my work too - its good. Proud of it.

There is something quite exciting about writing a talk and citing your own dissertation.

Unsurprisingly, research I spent months doing makes a great source for a talk on a similar topic.

I don't think I've ever chaired a bigger meeting tbf.

Does chairing a conference panel count? Idk.

Show thread

Finished chairing a heated meeting with 26 attendees -
"Thanks, I could hear every word you said"
"Great job herding the cats"
"Thanks for keeping it all on track"
& a couple more nice comments.

Companies House has a free text box for Director's titles - thats pretty awesome!

This is about transmasc people - but 100% applies to transfemme people too.

Except instead of binding, its not being able to wear short-shorts, bralettes & tanktops , can't tie up a t-shirt because of dark stomach hair etc etc.

Summer can be rubbish for trans folk.

My cameras have standard HDMI ports too - so if they can do that, why not USB?!

I found a cable online which should work and is only like Β£6. But its the principle of the thing thats so frustrating.

Surely, engineering a connector and manufacturing the cables is WAY more effort than just buying a standard connector and shipping standard cables.
