“In principle, I don’t believe anyone should own or run Twitter. It wants to be a public good at a protocol level, not a company.”

– Jack Dorsey, the cunt who made his billions by making Twitter a company and not a public good.

@aral he is consciously and intentionally trying to bury fedi under BlueSky bullshit. He noticed how the wind is blowing and is trying to ride it as long as he can.

The sad part is that it's working. More media writes about BlueSky (which has not produced a single public line of code, as far as I know) than fedi (which has infinitely more users). Sigh.

@rysiek @aral The sad truth is, that a few years back I heard a so-called "social media expert" say on a podcast, when asked if it would be possible to make social media a protocol with multiple players similar to e-mail, that "Well, I guess it would be possible, I don't know anyone doing it, but Twitter seems to be working on BlueSky"...

Utterly disappointing.
