Perhaps there is no perfect way to convey how absurdly obscene it is that a single person can "have" over a hundred billion dollars.
But "You Are Jeff Bezos" is damn close:
Also, perhaps there is no perfect way to satirize #DonaldTrump.
My little parody of the aforementioned game is definitely not even close:
@djsumdog I have never personally bought anything from any of these, in fact.
Amazon was the closest to get my monies this one time, but setting up an account was such a hot mess of a process that I just bailed before I actually got to the ordering part.
Never gave any of these my monies.
I do recognize that for many these are the cheapest, most reasonable options. Can't blame them. I don't believe responsibility for dealing with late stage capitalism is with individual people making individual choices.
@djsumdog couple of things.
First, as much as you or I might disagree with his policies, Biden stopped being "Former Vice President" quite a few months ago. Your choice of words here strikes me as trumpian bullshit.
Secondly EU did not allow ISPs to scan e-mail, it allowed service providers to automatically scan messages directly carried by the systems they provide. Still bad, but a world of difference. Facts matter.
@djsumdog third, anyone who follows me probably knows what my idea of solution is: regulating Big Tech.
Yes, there is danger in this, and yes we need to be vigilant, and yes governments will abuse such power to regulate.
But right now we're being screwed with our pants on by Big Tech and I do not see any other way to fight back. Also, my experience teaches me that this *can* work, if enough people get informed engaged.
This Mastodon instance is for people interested in technology. Discussions aren't limited to technology, because tech folks shouldn't be limited to technology either!
