My kid was in daycare for one week before he brought home a cold to the whole family (don't worry, we got negative COVID tests). I was really enjoying not having colds since lockdown began...

It appears that is down, so a bunch of SSL infrastructure that relies on certificates is breaking. Argh!

Or maybe there's bad internet weather somewhere else? I can't access any Apple properties under from any of my datacenter-hosted VMs, either, and a bunch of Google stuff is timing out from here and there...

Hm, I think my ISP (Sonic) is having some bad times today. No routes to a huge swath of the Internet...

I’m so glad we all have 30-bit high gamut displays now so that every icon can be the exact same four colors on a white roundrect.

Does anyone know if there's an implementation of the full tightvnc protocol other than the official tightvnc ones? Chicken of the VNC can't do the encoding for this stupid server, and TightVNC's official client doesn't work on any version of Java released in the last 4 years.

Love it when a SAN dies and corrupts the filesystem of every VM in a cluster. Computers were a mistake.

It's nuts that even on 14.1, Springboard drops frames and misses touches while app updates are installing. Are they downloading updates on the main thread?

Every time a customer asks me about our company's "cyber planning", "cyber resiliency", or "cyber preparation", I die a little inside.

14.1 release notes includes "Fixes an issue that could prevent zeroes from appearing in Calculator". How do you screw up a **calculator** that badly?

Like, how much of the reasoning behind Big Sur's larger UI elements is just because Apple ships all their laptops with horrible non-integer scaling by default that makes the interface elements in Catalina smaller than the HIG mandates?

I don't understand why Apple ships all their laptops with non-integer display scaling modes by default. This 16" rMBP looks *amazing* at 1536x960@2x (native 2x) and looks painfully fuzzy at the default 1792x1120@2x (~2.3x scale), plus all the interface elements are way too small at 132@2x dpi...

Does the battery-usage-by-app screen work for anyone in 14? Mine just hangs and makes the phone concerningly warm, suggesting something is spinning on the CPU.

2.2.3 has a bug breaking ACLs and sample fetchers against any HTTP method not enumerated in RFC 2616. The bug involves C structs full of function pointers implementing quasi object orientation. Gross.

@gudenau JetStream 2 scores are about the same in Firefox and Safari on my iPhone (155.5 FF, 155.8 S) so I'm pretty sure that is no longer a limitation.
