@profoundlynerdy I wish in addition to "Maybe" there were "I hope so" and "I hope not". But oh well :)

@minoru Trouble is, I'd want to vote for both “I hope so” and “I hope not” as in: I hope Rust itself is a fad but I hope its general direction leads to something better.

@edavies @minoru Yeah, I hope for a type safe language with the functional programming clout of Haskell and the flexibility of Perl but the readability of Ruby without the "I'm stuck with training wheels" feeling that Python gives.

@profoundlynerdy No, I don't think so, quite the contrary, actually.

There are a lot of points to mention here, but I try to make it short. has:
- a great community (it won't go anywhere, see below)
- developer experience
- safety
- performance

In fact, according to StackOverflow survey, it is "the most loved" language, which means: "have used it and would use it again".
I think, you can't have a more loyal community than that.
