Check it out: RetroBSD, a for microcontrollers. It can run in 128k of RAM and 512k of flash.

Am I the only one who wonders if this can be ported to a Commodore 128. Even more cool: a port — give or take an REU so the kernel can take advantage of a hardware MMU.

@profoundlynerdy Might have a bit of trouble rewriting the entire thing for 8 bit.

@AskChip There are C compilers that can target the 6502 / 6510 CPU. I doubt you'd have too much trouble porting it. It would be a challenge to be sure, but not impossible.

@profoundlynerdy That it can be done is a certainty. Maybe you can automate the tedious parts, maybe not.
