I came to #Bremen again! The first time in three years and for now, only for a weekend. It was a moment of reconciliation with the past and a way to look at the place with new eyes.
I love it!!!
The photo on the top represents my heart’s activity during a Saturday full of physical activity - having walked more than 15 km in total. The photo below it represents a day at the job - mostly, sitting behind the laptop and solving issues. STRESS KILLS! https://preslav.me/micro/2018/09180740/
From a recent chat with a friend of mine. This is the answer to “how have you been doing lately?” I think that a picture really is worth a thousand words. 😂 #SundayFun
I’ve just finished reading “The Road to Sparta” by Dean Karnazes. These last few pages where he describes about what running a marathon feels like literally spoke to me, so I decided to share a couple of highlights.

OK, nothing to panic about. Turns out, I was looking at the wrong end of the data frame 😂

Time to share a bit more progress on Pandas-TA. I've cleaned up the code and even created a small introductory Jupyter notebook, which I am going to the repo as well.
What you see is the performance comparison of a simple trading strategy I wrote for demo purposes (orange), vs its Buy-And-Hold equivalent (blue).
What concerns me are all these NaNs, plus the balance seems to be missing. Need to work on that a bit more.
Interesting to note that #VisualStudio would generate a partial C# class containing references to all views created with the UI designer (aka IBoutlets).
This somewhat reminds me of how iOS developers use Swift extensions to group similarity functionality, yet AFAIK, unlike partial classes, Swift extensions are stateless, ie consist only of functions.
3/ Kudos to Microsoft for recognizing what the first thing will be that developers would want to tweak in #VisualStudio. Changing the theme colors sits right there, on the very first preference page. 👍🏼

I just found one quote about Twitter, which I had posted back in 2015. Turns out that three years later nothing has changed, in fact, it has become even more relevant.
On full-text searching on #Mastodon Show more
According to this article, it is a deliberate decision to disable full-text searching of Mastodon toots, in order to prevent abuse. https://blog.joinmastodon.org/2018/07/cage-the-mastodon/
Why are not only public post indexed then? If Mastodon offers so many privacy options for sharing a post with the community, shouldn’t it be logical to conclude that people should be aware of the consequences of posting a message publicly to the entire #fediverse?
Let me do a proper #introduction. I am a genuinely curious individual, born and raised in 🇧🇬, currently living in 🇩🇪. As a software engineer, I have worked on projects spanning #gamedev, #fintech and #dataanalytics.
I hate the status quo. I am a natural-born builder and tinkerer. Programming is my way of building things, and so are reading, writing, blogging, and making music.
Last, but not least, I am a long-distance running wannabe, who dreams of running an ultra-marathon one day (a long way to go)
This Mastodon instance is for people interested in technology. Discussions aren't limited to technology, because tech folks shouldn't be limited to technology either!
