One thing I liked about G+ was the concept of circles. I real life I am one person, but I interact with different circles of friends and acquaintances.

But what I really wanted was being able to say "This message is public, but only push it to people interested in <SUBJECT>". This would allow people to follow all my ideas or just the ones we have a common interest in.

It would be really nice if Mastodon supported this.

@pmakholm Yeah I agree the circles was really well made. Facebook tried to reproduce this into categories but somehow it doesn't work it's just about permissions.

Well you can still do it but its not as intuitive.

@fx You mean that they are out of the pre-pre-pre alpha stage? :)

@lambadalambda I believe that the idea of federated micro blogging predates Diaspora and I am old enough to consider Usenet the original federated discussion network.

@pmakholm
TOTALLY agree with this. Maybe using tags and following someone's tags or something.

Could totally add this ontop. Also lists were a cool thing on TweetDeck. I liked keeping "Friends" separate from "Interesting People" from "Political Garbage stuff"...

Only one info stream feels dirty.
