I want to ask a serious question that for some reason ppl don’t want to discuss.

If you work in marketing, sales, HR for a tech company, does that make you a woman in tech?

Note: Not making a value judgment on any these roles!

If I join a community specifically to meet other WOC in technical roles because of our shared experience, and didn’t meet other devs, I’d be kinda disappointed.

That being said, I would never want to exclude anyone interested in tech.

@paola In the broadest sense, sure. In a purely personal selfishness "this thing is mine" sense, I am stingy with the nerd label for non-engineering folk of all walks and genders. An HR/Marketing/Sales/etc person has to prove their nerd cred before I'll really, honestly in-group them.
