Yesterday for my birthday my family organized a "trip" to Japan ⛩️ for me, including flight: my wife and I passengers and children flight personnel 😆 and then simulated flight with video ✈️
Once we arrived, dinner in Tokyo 🗼 🍜 !
I love my family! #quarantine
https://www.se-radio.net/2020/01/episode-396-barry-oreilly-on-antifragile-architecture/ interesting podcast on the concept of antifragility, although the example of pneumonia (look at the date) is now out of place 😶.
TL;DR: antifragile systems are systems that grow stronger because of stress instead of collapsing.

Step 4) spread garlic over the bread

Luckily I use btrfs and snapper to keep a few snapshots of my disc, and inside there I could recover the keyring, but I was still missing the password.
That done I worked, had lunch, came back to the keyboard and...
Typed my old password!
So I restored back my password in sync with the keyring, an my laptop was back fully operational!
I later realized that a copy of the backup key is stored in my online password manager too, but nonetheless, thanks #btrfs!
After the holiday I forgot my laptop user password. Luckily not the disc encryption one, just the user. So I did the live CD dance to mount the disk and reset the user password.
That done I could boot but the keyring was locked, because the password didn't match.
I removed the keyring, and that done I realized that inside I had the encryption key of my backup. And I can't restore the keyring from the backup without that key.

One day you will be touched by the curse of the Senior Developer, half of your team will not do a real review of your code, assuming it is correct, and then you will have to review it twice before assigning it. #developerlife
We received a lot of applications for https://rustlab.it , choosing the right ones for the schedule will be very hard
TIL – Using conditional entries in .gitconfig to automatically manage #git identities based on the working directory. Nice!

I have found a dual feeling about code ownership: there is the bad gut 🚫 feeling of defending your precious code, and the good caregiver 🤰 feeling of seeing your code grow robust and maintainable.
Tech Leaders should promote the caregiver ownership, and think in that terms for what enters in the master of a long running project.
My #rust2019 wish-list https://www.reddit.com/r/rust/comments/a6y6my/rust_2019_wishlist/ TL;DR
- Partial borrow of structs
- Function like macros (proc_macro_hygiene)
- Const generics
- Established crates (central crates for the ecosystem, shared community effort on them?)
