@musicmatze I'm interested to learn more about their different ownership model. I don't see a problem with them innovating.
With vendor lock-in you mean language design decisions being dominated by Microsoft? I would agree that languages are so fundamental that they should be steered by the community, not just one entity. However, I haven't read about any plans about how the decision process will look like for Project Verona, though, so let's hope for the best, I would say.
