@magthe, thanks for the recommendation! I've already put quite some time towards working in #Servant and I am happy with it, so learning another web framework would be a lot to take for the time being (and don't forget Yesod is already under my belt).

hey why not LISP or Forth based config files to force you to utilize that CS degree

Do you separate personal browsing from work browsing? How?

Currently I use for personal browsing and for work browsing. I would love to use for both but profiles doesn't seem to cut it anymore (AFAIU crippled it a few years ago).

Amnesty International: "Trump has incited violence & intimidation, as he continued to refuse accepting election results. These are not actions of a leader, but an instigator. Trump’s embrace of white supremacist groups & extremists has further fanned the flames of chaos & violence we witnessed.

New blog post klaxon!

In this post, I demonstrate how we can use Backpack to eliminate a performance problem that can come with mtl-style code. Now you can get an order of magnitude improvement on super contrived code you'd never actually write!

Enjoy!

Writing code that will eventually have to run successfully ONCE and then never again, and enjoying the hell out of writing some absolute pure garbage that will make people with Programming Opinions so very upset.

It reminds me of something Maciej Ceglowski said at a meetup I went to a few years ago (paraphrasing). If you're a coder and you want to contribute to the public good, it's unlikely you're going to help by inventing some new whiz-bang thing using Merkle trees or blockchain or whatever. Most likely, there is just some underfunded local government office that needs help updating their MySQL database or something – the boring, unglamorous work that nobody wants to do.

You guys know I like to bash Go, but... FUCK!

"The Go security team has determined that the root causes of the vulnerabilities cannot be reliably addressed."

Ok, your language design has some serious flaw that can't be fixed, so they are basically saying "Yup, a core library is going to be vulnerable for a long time".

Also, this is going since August 2020, according to the related post. Project Zero works way fast (30 days) to disclose issues on every other project, but on a project from their own company, 4 months.

Google surely cares about the well-being of the internet, sure.
