Hello fediverse! lib.reviews/ is a free/open/nonprofit alternative to proprietary review sites like , , .

It plugs into sources: , and (OSM integration is very basic at this point). Still a long way to go but we have a small community and lots of reviews already. On GitHub at: github.com/eloquence/lib.revie - IRC: .reviews on irc.freenode.net - Matrix: matrix.to/#/#lib.reviews:matri

@astro Yes, this is true; however, it does not include reviews (only ratings), and is licensed in restrictive terms (non-commercial use only, which generally does not qualify as "open data" under any common definition). lib.reviews is fully open (CC-0 for data and code, CC-BY-SA for reviews).

Unfortunately IMDB's restrictive licensing means we can't use it for metadata (while lib.reviews is not commercial, we do want to make sure that the data is fully re-usable, similar to Wikimedia's policiies)
