Talking to this really feminine lady at work: "yeah, I chose dance as an elective one year, but I got bored so I switched to metallurgy. It was awesome! I got top marks on that. Welding sfuff was great!"

This lady is about 35 times more badass than I am

Kinda surprised there hasn't been a social media equivalent of all the "slow" movements. Was thinking a fedi instance where posts take a couple days to publish might encourage more thoughtful and less impulsive posts?

Started watching a movie, and immediately assaulted by an existential question: Why does the Universal logo have the Earth behind it, instead of the Hubble Deep Field image or something? With that logo, the company should be called Planetary instead!

Very excited to announce my latest project: Eliza, a visual novel about an AI therapist, the people who use it, and the people who develop it. Coming August 12.

Did Sir Lancelot like to lance, like, a lot?

Was there also Sir Ridelot? Sir Drinkelot?

Linus Torvalds: "If you need more than 3 levels of indentation you're screwed anyway"

Gamedevs: "Hold my beer"

Imagine it's 2008, you work at a Malaysian video production company, and you've been tasked with choosing the background music for a video about the fabrication process of MDF, commissioned by a local timber company.

What song would you choose?

If your choice is a dance remix of the Highlander theme, you're a very strange person by my standards, but I guess you might fit perfectly well in 2008 Malaysia!

Sorry, it's this video, it's making me crazy 😶😶

@xiroux hace tiempo preguntaste por música en sueco. Esta tipa lo peta por aquí

Para ser pop facilote, tiene canciones bastante interesantes

Sweden: the country where the Swedish Church is a pretty important figure... and then you have a chandelier made with fake human bones in a children's museum 🤷🏻‍♂️

Rules of food engagement for our child:
- If you give him different food than yours, he'll refuse to eat his food, and eat yours instead
- If you give him the same food as you, he'll refuse to eat anything
- if you give him your food, expecting him to refuse it, he'll eat all your food, and then his own too

Currently at a relatively expensive restaurant, and the Trololo song just started playing on the speakers. Have we been trolled!!?

Had a pretty "interesting" day at the swimming pool, after I realized my new swimsuit becomes semi-transparent when wet 😳

Thankfully the swimming pool was mostly empty...

Me age 24, a moron: "I don't like that flamenco crap. I like things like metal, with nice guitars, and complex rhythmic and harmonic structures and..."

Me age 34: "Yeah, metal is fine, but I like things with nice guitars, and complex rhythmic and harmonic structures... like flamenco"

I've had this video on loop at work for 2 weeks now:

Daughter has reached the age of asking "why?" to everything.

"hold on to that cup with both hands"
"i don't want you to drop it"
"It's made of glass, and if you drop a glass thing it can break"
"because glass is brittle"
"because supercooling molten silicon dioxide makes an amorphous solid which is weaker than the crystalline form"
"the crystalline form has a tetrahedral lattice of ionic bonds"
"because one silicon atom can bind with four oxygen"

I'm extremely pleased to launch Run Your Own Social: How to run a small social network site for you friends.

This is a guide book to running a small, tight-knit federated social network server. It comes from my year of experience running Friend Camp. It's focused largely on SOCIAL solutions, though it does touch on the technical.

I've tried to keep it technology-neutral, and it should be a pretty easy read for anyone who's been on the fediverse for a while.

Food, cooking

One thing that surprises me is how Spain has many super savory yet simple dishes that haven't become well-known outside its borders.

One such dish is this: eggs, potatoes, Spanish ham strips and small peppers (these ones are Padrón peppers), fried with some garlic in olive oil, add some salt, and you're done. Not exactly healthy, but tasty and nice.

This was our dinner today and I am fuuuuull😊
