OMG, a study saying life expectancy is dropping in the US, because of the "opioid epidemic", alcohol abuse and suicides. Also, how the US government provides almost no support for struggling families, unlike basically every other developed country in the world.

@gboyd42 the "particular American phenomenon" is the decline in life expectancy. Even if the causes for that are also present in other countries (which might be the case in the UK), either they're a lot stronger in the US, or the US lacks ways to compensate for them which other countries have. Both options are terrifying.
