One thing that surprises me is how Spain has many super savory yet simple dishes that haven't become well-known outside its borders.
One such dish is this: eggs, potatoes, Spanish ham strips and small peppers (these ones are Padrón peppers), fried with some garlic in olive oil, add some salt, and you're done. Not exactly healthy, but tasty and nice.
