"The new computer has arrived"
1960's vs 2019
@jon_valdes I almost daily am so surprised at how far hardware has come. And yet the efficiency, reliability and availability seems to have gone in the opposite directions. Companies have moved to weekly patching cycles just to try to keep up with the fixes. Processes for getting things carried out in corporations are now longer than ever. Documentation is harder to find and less likely to be definitive.
@pdominey I truly hope soon we'll have a revolution in software design, towards reliability and efficiency. I'm seeing sparks of it daily, but they keep being drowned by the rest of the industry... for now.
