Something I noticed and appreciate:

Not a single Mastodon instance has tripped uBlock Origin for me, at all.

Can someone make a Twitter-bridge instance that just lets you follow anyone on Twitter from here?

"But if I’m on a federated network, such as Mastodon, I can reference any handle on the broader “fediverse” network, and my message (called a “Toot” in Mastodon) will be delivered to them:"
sounds a lot like email with a 500c limit...

@twitter well if you know their username, use that, use it like email so "@username@instancename". If you wanna see if any of your twitter contacts are here use mastodon-bridge.herokuapp.com/

It's probably already making the rounds, but I'm going to reshare it and tag it with #MastoDev :
Here is an in-depth area where @Gargron needs development/knowledge help, for a feature that would make Masto even better/more reliable in terms of timelines sorting:

Feel free to boost, poke people you know, and contribute. :trumpet:

Allright, I was on another Mastodon instance (mastodon.zenger.nl) but it already went offline or something like that. Unfortunately I also lost my contacts there... :/

rebuilding my twitter follow list 1 person at a time ... \o/

Boosts from users I don't follow show up in my "home". not sure that's normal.

some can be ... surprising :
octodon.social/about/more

"Reminder: that's a private place and your free speech means very little to me."

When choosing an instance to register on mastodon read the /about/more first

hmm importing the follow list from an account on one instance to the other doesn't seem to have much effect. better choose your initial server wisely (this sounds ripe for leading to natural monopolies)

mastodon pro tip: if you want to have more interactions checkout your instances timeline (it's the icon with the three people) and start interacting with others on your server. If that doesn't get updated enough, then try the federated timeline (the world icon) and do the same.

Just be nice to people, respond, favourite, and boost liberally

seems to me like mastodon or like systems should depend on an external identity service (keybase.io, onename,...)

if an account is taken over forcibly how do you migrate over to a server which isn't compromised ? Do the followers have to refollow a different user ?

how can you trust the administrator of such or such instance not to abuse/take over an account ?

How do you vet the instance you are tooting from ?
