Announcing Pterotype https://jeremydormitzer.com/blog/announcing-pterotype/
Oops I lost my old #introductions post in the last instance fandango but enough has changed I'd might as well make a new one right?
Hi, I'm fluffy! I'm a software engineer by day (working at an HIV research lab as of December, 2018) and in my spare time I make music, games, comics, and bad decisions.
See my bio for various links!
Also http://beesbuzz.biz/about for a somewhat fuller bio I guess.
Also not flash but beloved:

Still no documentation and not anywhere close to done, but my #ActivityPub #PHP library is open source at https://github.com/pterotype-project/activitypub-php.
My goal is to provide a well-tested, flexible library that handles the complicated parts of ActivityPub (JSON-LD, persistence, addressing, etc.) in a way that can be plugged into an existing PHP codebase with no hassle. That'll help me refactor #Pterotype, and will also make it easy for other developers to make developers to make plugins for Joomla, Drupal, etc.
#Briar is an unusual kind of messenger for Android devices: there are no servers, messages are stored on your phone and sent directly to your contact's phone through TOR, wi-fi or bluetooth.
It's designed for journalists, activists, people working in disaster zones and anyone interested in "off the grid" communication.
The official site is here:
The app is free, open source and available through @fdroidorg and Google Play.
Stormlighttech is finally on Mastodon! This is only until we have our own instance, which we will. our blog is also in the fediverse; email@example.com (thanks @jdormit!)
Another cry for an #Apache expert to help me. I think I'm holding mod_cache wrong - it keeps caching a my site's directory index at / instead of the output of index.php. If anyone could help, or knows someone who could, I would really appreciate it
Thanks to the recent additions of both Pterotype and WordPress-ActivityPub plugins for WordPress sites, we can now post articles to the fediverse! Mic Check. 1. 2. 3. 4. I’m following instructions here and wondering if this post will federate @firstname.lastname@example.org Show more

#ActivityPubForWordPress are plugins for WordPress sites that add support for the ActivityPub standard.
This means people can follow the WordPress site from ActivityPub-powered services such as Mastodon etc.
There are a couple of such plugins right now:
Any Apache experts in the house? Please send help:
You might find this interesting, it's a list of official Fediverse / Federation accounts belonging to various organisations:
If you see an org you're interested in, maybe give them a follow to encourage them to spend time on here?

How to verify your account on Mastodon (sort of) Show more
1. Establish an official website which people know is yours
2. Add a link to your official website from your Mastodon profile
3. Edit your Mastodon profile and go to the section on links, paste the HTML ownership code into the front page of your website
4. Save your Mastodon profile, your instance will check that the ownership code is present on your website. If it is, you get a green tick next to the link.
5. Congratulations, you're verified!
