Folks that go with , what are some of the first things you made sure your four legged friend would do before you took that step to camping? Any suggestions on camping with dogs? Sites? Tips?

@j_angliss Honestly - not much. But I'm pretty lucky, Freya's pretty quiet. Really the best tip I can give you is contain and control your pet. This may seem like a given, but other people may surprise you.

If she wasn't contained in the tent (with us), we made sure she was tethered to a long line. Always supervise, especially in areas with predators or in sites where other dogs/humans may not be dog-friendly. If you control your dog and someone else doesn't, it's their fault if something goes wrong.

@trevdev thanks for the feedback. That was along the lines of what I was thinking. I've got some work on recalling mine to my side, he gets very excited about new smells and places so doesn't always listen. Otherwise, mine is amazing with other dogs. Not sure what his reaction to being in a tent would be, might have to set it up in the yard and see how he does.
