New here? Remember that Twitter is optimized to make you into passive consumers, by en(r/g)aging you with content that you don't choose yourself.

Here, that doesn't happen. But it also means you're responsible to find people to follow.

It will take some work.

If you're willing to put that in, you'll find a wide variety of friendly people that will be happy to have meaningful conversions and laugh and cry together with you.

Start by searching and looking at who other people follow.

I used to be a "Googly" person. I had Gmail when most people asked "Is that like email or something", and I was heavy into Google Plus when it was peaking.

Two things turned me off, aside from the now obvious reasons. When they started providing those creepy auto-response buttons on your emails; felt like they were reading right along with me.

Second, with location turned off on my Android phone, I get asked to rate my trip to "business x" when I wasn't even there, but was nearby.

We all have some of these tiny instruction sheets that came with some device, like a digital photo frame or a poor man's watch. 3 yrs from now when I change the battery, I won't remember which of the 2 buttons to hold down for 5 sec and press the other 3 times to change the settings.

I scan all those little sheets to PDF and keep them in a Manuals folder in my Documents. Zoomed, easier to read, and most important, I know where they are.

Family stops in. He says he went to see the doctor. At first I was surprised, and then thought more and realized it might not of been David Tennant, as there were others. Then realized it was probably a medical person.

Urgh!! Just been asked to be a contributing writer for a tech site and when I asked about payment, there isn't any.
Freelancers: Please be upfront and ask for payment. Sure it might be scary to ask, but do it! Don't work for exposure, we can't pay bills with exposure :(

So it's if I have to wear an eye patch, I will insist on two parrots to sit on my shoulders, and they will look rather dark.

My sister was kind enough to give me fresh tomatoes and peppers from her garden. Guess it's an omelette for lunch!
