Anyone have statistics for how common use of version control is in the software development industry these days?

I remember seeing an article saying "20% of companies use version control" in the past year, but I don't have a link to that.

@liw I worked for a company without vcs a couple of years back. All backups were done manually once a week and every quarter a tape was stored in a bank-safe. It was a small company and since everything was working okay, they continued to use their year old workflow.
