Saturday, August 25th, at 10:00 EDT (14:00 UTC) mastodon.technology will enter a three-hour maintenance window to migrate our Rails app server and Sidekiq workers to use jemalloc, which will hopefully alleviate memory issues we've been experiencing.
Every effort will be made to keep the site from experiencing long periods of downtime, but there will be intermittent, occasional downtime from reboots and Docker container restarts. Your patience is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Wednesday, August 22, 19:00 EDT (23:00 UTC), mastodon.technology will enter a one-hour maintenance window to upgrade the VM that the instance runs on. Here's what to expect:
- If all goes according to plan, 10–20 minutes of downtime.
- There will be 10–15 minutes of uptime while we test.
- If something goes wrong, there will be 10–20 minutes additional downtime while we revert server upgrades.
Thank you for your patience.
My only gripe so far with @tootdon is the timeline jumping to top on refresh, instead of showing new toots from the point I left. But I like the UX/UI, more than others clients. (Well, the only other I really tried is Amaroq, it's also good, but the look and feel isn't to my taste)
@ashfurrow Thanks for updating the instance. And indeed, filters did show up in settings now! 🙂
However, there is still no "Invite People" section. Any idea why?
This Mastodon instance is for people interested in technology. Discussions aren't limited to technology, because tech folks shouldn't be limited to technology either!
