@omnipotens You rebooting your instance somehow enabled it to talk to ours. We suddenly got an influx of a lot of new followers. And some 10d old mentions showing up in the timeline. 🤔
@Liberapay is indeed our favourite donation platform ❤. You can read more about the #fdroid liberapay integration here: https://f-droid.org/en/2018/03/02/liberapay-support.html

#fennec which is #fdroidorg's unbranded #Firefox build now updated to v60. Finally bringing all Firefox quantum improvements to android: https://www.androidpolice.com/2018/05/04/firefox-60-now-available-finally-brings-quantum-css-engine-android/
⬆️ Does anybody know of a FLOSS app for this? Taking photos (and maybe GPS coordinates) when someone tries to unlock my phone and send them to an email address? I can't find one on @fdroidorg and would like to avoid giving sneaky proprietary apps my data as much as possible. 😊
I installed a bunch of @fdroidorg apps on my phone last night.
Simple Calendar, Simple Gallery, Simple File Manager ... very nice! Also Tasks and Omni Notes and Orgzly. Phone Saver, PhotoBackup, Vinyl Music Player... My phone suddenly feels like a useful computer!
These apps may be simpler than mainstream alternatives, but no ads and no spying is a HUGE feature.
The Google Play Store is so full of crapware, I dread using it. F-Droid is very refreshingly better in that regard.
The second iteration of #TWIF is live! https://f-droid.org/en/2018/05/04/this-week-in-fdroid-w18.html
Thank GOD there's a FOSS Roku remote app on @fdroidorg that lets me control the Roku TV my roommate has! I don't have to put up with whatever ad-filled garbage Roku surely puts out! https://f-droid.org/app/wseemann.media.romote
(This is important because the "volume up" key on the actual remote is broken. 😅)
Have you heard of StreetComplete? It's an Android app that shows you open questions/issues with OpenStreetMap in your area, and asks you to answer them.
It's made for people with no experience with #OpenStreetMap, so it shows only very simple questions that can be answered very clearly. ("What is printed on this street sign?", "What's the number on this house?")
The list of #fdroid apps we're considering for #twif is at https://gist.github.com/Matrixcoffee/a61370a7615244ddace38afccfdab671
Got a question for you all: Which of the whopping 59 app updates from the last week do you want us to highlight in the next #TWIF? Anything particularly important or interesting? You can see the candidates by scrolling through the home screen of the client app.
Turns out that switching between old and new index formats uncovered another bug in the index generation. This was fixed last week for f-droid.org but affects all 3-rd party repos as well. We'll try to get a fdroidserver bugfix release out soon to make it easier for repo admins to update. Meanwhile fdroidserver@master is fixed and will fix your repo index.

Found a really cute puzzle game on @fdroidorg
