Hi! This is @Bubu and @fynnDirect writing here to inform you about updates related to our work on #CCTG, which is our libre fork of #CoronaWarnApp utilizing the @microg exposure notification library.

Btw. our corona app builds are @reproducible_builds, at least inside the fdroid defined build env.

This means a few things:

* the build I published earlier will be rebuild by fdroid and published with the same signature if the verification succeeds.
* you can rebuild this yourself and verify the build

I'll probably write some instructions for this in the next few days. It's not as easy as I'd like it yet.

Sooo this corona warn app seems to work without play service code now, thanks to @larma ! 🎉

Currently you'll have to self-build and it only works in debug mode, but it seems to work.

The developers of Signal are currently doing a user survey:

I told them that I really like the app but also that I would like:
a) Signal on @fdroidorg
b) a proper desktop client
c) no data stored in "secure enclaves"

A major threat to the adoption of an alternative is that users expect updates to be automatic but #Google made that possible only for the #PlayStore

Code Lutin will invest on @fdroidorg to make software update possible on non-rooted #Android devices thus, allowing people to adopt #FreeSoftware

#Fennec #FDroid based on #Fenix alias the latest #Firefox for #Android has arrived! Trackers have been removed, "about:config" is available. The version has not been marked as recommended yet, so you have to download and install manually. Thanks to relan, @Bubu and all who have made this possible. 🥳

The app shares the appid with the official F-Droid Fennec build but is signed with a different key, so it won't install as an update to any existing version and neither will the future official build install over this version.
