The WiFi app has a different signature from the last events as we had to create a new repo. You'll need to uninstall the old version.

(Next time we'll give it a different package id if the signing key changes.)

Another helpful tip, as there's no c3nav app this time:

You can add a home screen shortcut of
In Firefox/Fennec this works via the "+ sign in a house" icon in the top right corner.

We are currently launching our repo. You'll find the Fahrplan app and the NOC wifisetup app there.
The card10 companion app will follow.

We are still working on it and will keep you posted.

I've started integrating the new Anti-Features icons into #FDroid. Here's an early preview. Turned out even better than I dared to hope. Thanks @redplanet for designing the icons.

We published a statement on our stance on neutrality of free software (and why we won't stay neutral in this case):

We're trying to continue our TWIF posts this week.

Do you have anything interesting to report that happened roughly in the last week in the F-Droid/Android FOSS ecosystem? Any noteworthy app updates?

We just released v1.7 which includes new PanicKit responses: uninstall any app on the device, and, reset repos to default

Because that is the core of Software Freedom/Liberty: the right for a Person to take a software that expresses a [political] view they disagree with, obtain a copy of that software with equal capability as the distributor, modify that [political] view to be more amenable, and then redistribute it without any additional licensing burdens.

It's never about what specific views or capabilities are in the software itself. Heck, you could fork and purposefully add bugs and it is still no less Freedom respecting.

I find it incredibly surprising that many or folk take the 0th pillar's "freedom of use" to mistakenly mean "freedom of usage by creating a software feature" instead of the true intended meaning: "freedom of usage under the license conditions".

Because that's what RMS has always been about: the software licenses being symmetrical in power between the distributor of software and receiver of software. It creates a level playing field in terms of what "politics" are contained in the software.

HEY. @Tusky is excellent. As of me writing this post, their Open Collective balance stands at $1592.59.

If people can get $200 more dollars in the till (that's $1792.59) by the end of the day tomorrow (36 hours for me, give or take a few), I'll match it with $200 dollars of my own.

I also challenge other folks in tech with a little money to throw around to match my match, even partially.

Our local #FDroid user-group today was great. Since it's holiday season, we had a bit fewer visitors, but that gave us a chance to have a lot of engaging indepth conversations and hands on experiences about topics like:
* verifying our binaries
* lineage device support
* /e/
* F-Droid configuration
* etc.

This time @metalab was very hospitable. (No jackhammering :awesome:). Our live demos also worked surprisingly well, thanks to #ScreenStream. I'm really looking forward to the next one.

Interesting Talk "Android without Google". Unfortunately not many listeners, this should be required knowledge for Android devs :D #dcberlin19 #droidcon

Did not expect to see @fdroidorg in a presentation by Google, but this guy from Google Play Protect had it in his slides as an example from where they get apks to analyze in order to find malware. #dcberlin19 #droidcon

I'm on a panel discussion at #droidcon Berlin next Monday: www-de-droidcon-com.filesusr.c

(I think direct linking doesn't work 🙄)

The panel is 11 am, the topic is:

> Play Store & App store policy experiences

Having never used the play store, neither as a user, nor developer, I feel fully qualified to give my opinion on this 😂 .
