⚠️ Important news

There's a new @fdroidorg app called #AirGuard protecting you from being tracked by AirTags.

It scans your surroundings for devices that someone might have put into your pocket to track you via #Apple's #FindMy surveillance network and alerts you if a device is following you.

@meena @datenschutzratgeber @fdroidorg the 'approximate location' permission is required to do anything with bluetooth, since it's possible to get a vague sense of where someone is from nearby bluetooth device identifiers [and cross-referencing]

there is also, like, a map, so the rest of the location permissions seem to make sense to me

'have full network access' doesn't *need* to be there looks like the dev has some 'how many users' stats

the rest are so the app stays awake while you are out

The permissions are OK, we've checked that in our review. Network is for optional (and opt-in, so by default off) statistics. During the on-device test, there was no network activity at all.
