We are now approved as an organization on github sponsors: https://github.com/sponsors/f-droid
We only have mirrors of our repositories on github, but if using github sponsors is a convenient way to donate to projects for you, feel free to use this.
The funds will be contributed to our #opencollective without any additional fees.
You can also find other options to donate here https://f-droid.org/donate/
@aktivismoEstasMiaLuo There's no fee charged by github: https://docs.opencollective.com/help/collectives/github-sponsored-organizations#what-fees-will-be-charged
@fdroidorg so it seems #Microsoft uses sponsorship as a loss leader to get projects on their platform.
@fdroidorg
I wish fdroid would stay away from github.
@fdroidorg So… What is the best way between #LiberaPay and #opencollective to donate to F-Droid ?
@charly Quoting form https://f-droid.org/donate
> Liberapay has lower fees but Open Collective allows more flexibility and transparency on how the funds are used. Both platforms allow for recurrent donations which are highly desirable for making F-Droid sustainable.
@fdroidorg @charly
Do you prefer donations via such a service over Bank transfer?
@koyax Currently Liberapay or OpenCollective are easier to deal with for us. You can use bank transfers via liberapay though (and maybe even for opencollective by now?)
@fdroidorg
I see. That's good to know. I always thought I do you guys a favour if I do a direct bank transfer...
@fdroidorg I use F-Droid a lot. Thanks for everything. Let me help share too!
@fdroidorg I see that you accept #Paypal. Plz consider whether Paypal is aligned with the values of #FDroid: https://dev.lemmy.ml/post/30880 #Microsoft is not well aligned with F-Droid values either, & doesn't MS take a cut of #Github sponsor donations?
