Dragon Quest XI spoiler
Just realized some cool game design in Dragon Quest XI. One character pair are twins and their skill trees are visually roatated 45 degrees. One of them dies in the game and they gift thier skills to the other. After that, the skill tree of the one left now has both sets of skills, which line up perfectly. Really like seeing forethought put into things like this.
I recently bought and have been playing Dragon Quest XI with steamplay and am appreciating how much easier is it to play mainstream windows games on linux now. While I wish support for the platform was more official than it is, I'm glad to have this level of choice in OS platform without being unable to enjoy some good games.
With recent discussion about Google's change to force Chrome sign-in with Google sign-in, it reminded me about my frustration that we don't have a popular consumer technology company focused around respecting consumers as human beings and not cash cows. So far, #Purism seems to be one of the few aiming in this direction. I can only hope one of these companies can do well enough to become an example to other's business because it's hard to see any way to convince the current dominant businesses to change.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who has been frustrated some current software development practices.
Had a lot of fun with Yoku's Island Express recently. A combo of pinball and metroidvania game.

Found this esoteric language rather fun to read about. It makes not too bad lyrics out of simple programs.
Found this interesting article trying to explain some ideas behind how different cultures' parenting can change how kids grow up handling tasks and managing attention.
Finally got to play Aeon's End War Eternal. I'll need to play it more to get more thoughts, but it doesn't beat out Sentinels of the Multiverse or Dominion/Star Realms, despite pulling ideas from both. Was still fun, though.
Really liked how much interaction these components had in this game.
