Before jumping into someone else's mentions:
✅ Am I being contrarian?
✅ Do I already have a relationship with this person, or am I being inappropriately familiar?
✅ Am I "ironically" doing exactly what this person just said not to do?
✅ Am I derailing another legitimate discussion in order to get on my own favourite hobby-horse or to one-up this person in my knowledge of social issues?
✅ Am I saying "Are you surprised?" when they're disappointed?
✅ Am I providing unsolicited advice?

I am pretty stressed. The best way I can put it is I normally have three pillars. Home, Work, and World. If something goes wrong in one (fight with partner, bad day at work, global tragedy) I can have a bad day.
But currently the world pillar is always having a bad day so if something goes wrong in another pillar, I really break down.
We used https://remo.co/ for a company meeting today and it was great. It did a really good job of simulating the advantages of a physical space, like small groups sitting at tables, speakers presenting to a crowd, raising hands to ask questions, etc. Definitely give it a shot if that sounds interesting.
A thing I've learned as a consultant: make it as easy as possible for someone to say yes to what you want.
E.g. instead of "Why are we doing A? B is better."
say: "When we do A, it seems to conflict with X. What do you think about changing it to B?"
It gives the person agency instead of getting defensive.
