My client is looking for an outside firm to audit the security of the project we're finishing: and apps with a backend. He's saying words like but I'd be happy with a simple code review.

Does anyone on my timeline offer such a service?

Creepy bird making fun of Facebook

This 30 day timelapse of a cargo ship traveling the Earth's oceans is absolutely captivating:

Folks, I’m seeing a lot of people recommend setting xpinstall.signatures.required to false to fix the Firefox extensions issue.

It disables signature checking on extensions which means that you open yourself up to malicious extensions if you install any new ones or if you have auto updates on.

Either follow the instructions here by @amolith

Mastodon is this crazy alternate reality where people actually use Linux on the desktop.

Dear Ruby devs and game devs. I have a crazy announcement I want to share. Please boost.

Last week I released A Dark Room to the Nintendo Switch. Within the game, I also shipped a Ruby interpreter and a code editor as an Easter Egg.

*This Easter Egg effectively turns every consumer spec-ed Nintendo Switch into a Ruby Machine.*

1. Download A Dark Room from the US/EU.
2. Connect a USB keyboard and press the “~” key.
3. Follow the onscreen instructions.

I’m starting a #Mastodon instance for indie app devs and companies to create accounts for their apps/products. The goal is to make it a place to build genuine community and provide customer support.

The rules will specifically prohibit spammy marketing stuff of other platforms.

I’m using @mastohost to run it too.

Happy #EarthDay, mes chéries. Take a moment today to appreciate the beauty of the planet we share. And try to do something good for the world, if you can. 🌍

I was on a podcast! You can hear how I use 3 (!) different window managers spread across 3 (!) different computers.

Cool feature I learned about:

If a join uses the same column name on both tables, you can shortcut the join condition with USING:

SELECT * FROM offices
JOIN employees USING (company_id)
