@dprx I was a big-time Twitter user. I lost some things when I stopped using it entirely and switched to fedi, but knowing I'm not contributing to Twitter's effect on society makes up for it.

Updated server to Debian 11.

Went fine enough.

Then I tried to run a pg_clusterupdate. Which went slow as balls (that part is my fault, i still want to get SSDs sometime).

But then like 70 out of 74GB and 6 fucking days into the pg_clusterupdate, it hits one piece of database corruption (a broken constraint) that I wasn't aware of so it automatically nuked the pg 13 database I'd wanted a fucking week for it to upgrade to

Stupid question, but is a caldav server required to share an ical file? Like, if I want to give somebody read-only access to a calendar can I just stick it in a boring old nginx vhost and tell people to subscribe to that?

Think it's the last straw for me with Twitter. Toxic environment, and bad management.

Plan for this evening: Do some soldering. Do some studying. Wait for the 3D printer to finish. Play some

I have a DHCP server that's been doing DHCP since 2006. It's been migrated to a VM, but the original server predates the iPhone.

I ran a script that listed all the leases in the dhcpd.leases file, and there are leases that predate the iPhone, too. Pretty much every lease has persisted, even long-dead ones!

Talk about baggage... let it go, Elsa.

Repeat after me - Smart TVs are not a smart investment. Get a good screen and use a set-top device: Android TV update puts home-screen ads on multi-thousand-dollar Sony Smart TVs arstechnica.com/?post_type=pos

those developer figures are from a stackoverflow survey by the way as quoted by wikipedia.
I still think linux use on the desktop is under-reported but no proof.
