@shadowfacts @JPEG As someone who’s only been doing this about a year or so, I’ve written tons of bad code. I can’t make any excuses for someone else’s work, but everything is a learning experience. Since he’s talented enough to get people to pay attention to his stuff, I think it’s a safe bet code quality will improve with time.
@shadowfacts If you’re going to be an asshole in public toward @JPEG, least you could do is mention him.
@varjmes :( Why does being ill make you feel like a failure?
@bclindner @tasnyx That’s fair enough. I just woke up from a nap with a migraine and may be a bit crustier than usual. lol
@tasnyx @bclindner I just think it’s weird to complain about something that doesn’t have to have any impact on you. It’s as simple as not subscribing to them
@tasnyx @bclindner It is possible for more than one at a time thing to exist. The high budget podcasts aren’t taking away from a limited audience pool. They’re adding people who don’t already listen to any podcasts. They existing ones will be just fine.
@switchingsocial@mastodon.at @Yoric Btsync still exists. They just changed names. Though I can’t vouch for its trustworthiness.

Alright, just posted a write-up about the paradox of tolerance. This one will be visible on planet.gnome.org, so there will definitely be some discussion about it.

@tewha I'm not following. How did you come to this conclusion?
@warriorstar: Push notifications require a backend service that cost money to run. Supporting something with ongoing cost indefinitely with a one-time purchase just doesn't make sense. Their options were to either shut down, monetize user data, or charge a subscription. I think they made the best choice.

@tewha They’re fine. But they can be a bit messy. I’d recommended an appropriately sized pour over instead. Great coffee and much easier cleanup.
